Children’s Lesson Programs
Our popular children’s programs introduce just the right mix of instruction, supervision and fun! Treat your 3-14 year old to all the fun you’ve been having out on the slopes! Our Jr Ski & Ride Center has a child size cafeteria, ski & board equipment for youths, and instructors specially trained for teaching kids. This fun filled day of discovery and learning includes a hot chocolate break and lunch for the all day lessons.
Ride the shuttle bus from Hope Lake Lodge or Arcadia Village or drive and park in the convenient unloading zone. No need to stop at the ticket area, buy your lifts and rentals for the kids at the Jr Ski & Ride Center.
After checking in at the Jr Ski and Ride Center, your children will be placed in classes with other children of the same age and ability. Your little one will shuffle onto the Magic Carpet Lift (a conveyor type lift) and ride to the top of the children’s learning terrain with their instructor. The slope on the either side of the lift has a gentle pitch and is counter sloped at the bottom to ease them to a safe and confident stop without falling. Then, they shuffle back onto the Magic Carpet for another run! After the children learn balance and maneuverability in the Magic Carpet area, they move on to the Alpha Slope where they learn to ride the chairlift and come down a longer but gentle slope. This slope has several areas where the pitch flattens out so they can learn about variations in the terrain.
The advanced children will have a fun filled day with instructors teaching higher level of skills on more difficult terrain. Along with the reinforcement of ski and board etiquette, and the skills of skiing and riding control, your child will learn lessons that will stay with them all of their skiing and boarding lives.
Reminder: Please remember to reserve a spot for your children at least 1 week prior to your stay. Class sizes are limited.
